We are a little over halfway done with September and Self-Care Awareness month!! I have been enjoying each and every day soaking in all things self-care! Whohooo!!
I love this cartoon that puts a spin on the common phrase we use when we get stuck at work and get home late. “Sorry that I’m late family - got caught at the office and had to work late.” This has happened to me too many times and I love this little reminder that we can shift what is important. I realized years ago that we give our very best selves to our work for 8-10 hours a day. Being so kind, patient, courteous and respectful then we come home and have nothing to give to our families. Often we are grumpy, tired, irritable and exhausted after a long day in the office. . That does not seem right at all. Yes work is important but our families and life outside of work should be more important. So I invite everyone to rethink the way you go through your day and what is really important. Who are you giving your best self to? What ways can you make sure your priorities are in order.
Cheers to reversing the norm and filling our days with what truly matters!
