Tender Moment Tuesday

One of the great things about being a special event photographer for social events is the emotions that are captured of a moment. The process we have of captured event we move around and we look for and anticipate moments. Their are some moments that are just lucky ones for us, those ones we lived to get!

One thing for sure when looking back at that particular moment in time you can see the tenderness of that moment. So to say one of the great things about being a special event photographer is the connection between the people the event and that special moment in time.

1st Birthday Jungle Party

Last week we received a call from our clients that we had the privilege of capturing special maternity photos of last year. We were thrilled to receive a call asking us if we had time in our schedule to capture their son’s 1st birthday party! I was happy that my calendar was open and I was able to come out and capture this milestone moment for this family! I’m so thankful to have the opportunity to grow with families its very rewarding!

For over a decade we’ve have been a special event photographer.

Birthday Parties , Anniversaries Baby showers Girls Night Out Workshops Conferences you name it we’ve captured. Being a special event photographer has so many perks. One thing you are indeed at a party like all the time. You also get to meet an array of beautiful people on the inside and out. You get a chance to visit many different venues. You see a variety of ideas and concepts for celebrations…. did I mentioned the food…. it’s seems like every event the hosts always wants to make sure you get a plate and eat!!! Next is the amazing dessert you get to experience all types of goodness from delicious cakes cupcakes brownies chocolate cover strawberries pretzels… you name it… we’ve captured… and one of the main experiences from being a social event photographer is the history that you are recording… ⠀

5 Ways to Preserve your Photo Memories

One day it will all be History!
Your pictures you take today will will provide you with a visual story to tell. Up and Down my timeline on Social media I'm seeing all the graduates from pre- School to College and its such a beautiful site to see.
Congratulations to all the Graduates during this season! Best wishes for a successful & productive future! May all your goals and visions come to life!

During this time lots of images are being capture to celebrate and remember this moment in time.

While we are caught up in the moment and in some cases the memory will be just a post on social media. I'm going to list a few ways that you can take the digital images you are creating by phone or photo shoot images and give a few ideas on how to preserve the memories.

1. Print out the images from a photo lab

2. Create a photo Album ( Shutterfly, Walgreens, Sam's Club)

3. Create a Website or Blog to remember the time (Blogger, WordPress)

4. Create a memory box (store all items that you would like to save)

5. Create a Scrap Book (This is a fun keepsake)

When Life Gives you that Moment

“When Life gives you that moment… take a picture” Lately I’ve been going through plenty of image from photo sessions I’ve captured over the years. It brings back really fond memories. The places and people we have captured. It really keeps you locked into the moment. I’ve even been going through photos from our family albums and looking at moments that have gone passed. Some images I just stare off and remember a time others which are classic moments before I was born and I try to imagine the time period and what life was like for members of my family. It is with those special images that is a reminder take a picture. Capture a moment. I believe the future generations will be glad you did.

“I get crickets.... “

Over the years being on a variety of social media platforms and starting a blog, it's never been a lot of followers but we've always work to post and stay consistent with our posting.

Consistency creates confidence... yes there are many times you can post something and it seems like no one listening at all but believe you me folks that are interested in your product or service will come around!!! Just be consistent!  True story... I started a blog in 2008 and I really had no idea what I was doing, but I would still just post about things that I was working on fast forward the year was 2011 and I begin to get orders from custom party supplies that I created... The success of the collection went on for a few years after... why... I was consistent and my content became top of google search ... not because I was a SEO guru ... because I was consistent even when it seem I was talking to myself.

Fast forward to May 2022! I'm apart of a 100 day consistency challenge. My challenge is to write a blog post everyday for 100 days! So far so good! We've been going strong! Just a few days we are at the halfway point 50 days of posting everyday! #consistency

Being a special event photographer for a number of years, a few things I’ve learned about it is this after everything is said and done there is the after party. So we put a few words together to describe the importance of capturing special memories from milestone moments in life.

When everything is over 

The cake has been cut 

The food has been eaten

My Experience with Special Events Photography

When I first began in photography and I purchased my 1st DSLR Camera I was super excited to be able to create beautiful imagery with this new over $500 purchase. Now that I have this big professional camera I’m in the Big League now!

When I began taking pictures I was capturing a lot of photo sessions mainly families and friends that needed updated images. The event wasn’t too long after doing that that I landed a job capturing a special event. When I did it was pretty fun, I didn’t worry about a lot of lighting challenges and my subjects didn’t have to be placed in front of a backdrop I was just able to go around and capture what I thought were meaningful images of an event. Before too long I was booking lots of events and became a go-to photographer for all things special events.

As I began to hone in on the skill I had in mind that I wanted to have magazine-worthy images. Over the years we have had features in magazines and many copyright release forms have been signed by corporate entities to use our images for different projects as they occurred.

All the years!

Giving a Big Shout out to my girl my friend my sister. So to tell you the truth sometimes you are blessed with a friend who is in your corner to cheerlead support be a listening ear be a laborer a second shooter if needed no matter what is needed my girl is always down for the cause.

Every idea concept event that we planned to put together I can count on Tonyia to be there.

I’ve hosted many events celebrations workshops and more and each time I let Tonyia know I need your help.

Without hesitation she lend me a hand to assist wherever and whenever I needed a hand …

She’s also been a customer of our services… family photos sweet 16 maternity wedding she has supported

Design your Destiny with Tierra Destiny

We were introduced to Tierra Destiny by our Friend Kara Norman.

Kara, thought Tierra was someone I definitely needed to know My first meeting with Tierra was by phone.

A bit nervous about meeting hearing about all the amazing things she was doing in the business world. When we spoke Tierra she was so real authentic and down to earth. She presented me with an opportunity to come to her conference Design Your Destiny Atlanta ( this was a 3 city conference tour). Kara Norman and I were able to capture moments from this awesome event.

Tierra was so impressed with our work we did she invited us to come to the other cities. I was able to make arrangement and travel to DC which turned out to be another amazing experience and the connections made were just what I needed

As time moved on Tierra ( An amazing Business Coach and Trainer) would constantly pour into me with her knowledge and experience. This time in our journey was a more challenging time. It was during this time in our journey we had received the last of our unemployment benefits. For the 1st time ever we looked to make this photography thing work as a means of supporting ourselves and family.

We made the choice to bet on ourselves!

So the coaching that Tierra would provide to me was so priceless.

She referred me to some awesome clients and she constantly opened many doors of opportunity. I’m so thankful for the many impactful experiences during our times together I’ve learned so much and appreciate those who come into your life at just the right time

Our Story!

The Year 2011

Empowering Ladies & Girls with Kara Norman

I received a phone call from a Kara Norman and she let me know she saw me at event capturing images and somehow was able to track down who I was. After learning more about us and our work she let me know she’s a big fan of our work!

I was at awww with such a gracious call.

Kara went on to tell me about an empowerment event that she was hosting and wanted to order custom supplies as well as book our photography services for the event.

We were able to put together a custom order and capture images from this wonderful event. Everything turned out great.

That was the very start of not only a business alliance but we wound up becoming great friends.

As time went on Kara being involved in many networks of ladies, I begin receiving invitations to this powerful events that would help and inspire me as a woman and even more a woman in business.

This opened my world to yet another untapped area with our services. As we began to receive referrals from the network that she was heavily involved in.

As time went on we went on to make wonderful history together.

Many milestone moments occurring in both my photography services as well as custom party décor.

We were creating parties with a purpose.

These custom items were used to affirm and empower our clients.

I’m so very thankful for Kara seeking me She’s not only a friend she’s my sister and prayer partner and I appreciate her sooooooo much!
