Walk through Wynwood Walls

We recently visited Miami, Florida during our time there we visited the very colorful Wynwood Walls area! This area is located just a few minutes down the street from downtown Miami. We explored this area by foot and enjoyed the art that is painted all over the buildings in the area. My son and I stopped at so many different places and took photos and videos.

Here are a few spots we stop along the way to capture fun images. We initially was going to visit the Museum of graffiti. Instead we decided to just walk around the streets of the area and enjoy the art on the walls street signs and the ground.

I was able to get my son to pose in a photo with me! That’s always exciting.

As we were finishing up our walk we did come across The Art of Hip Hop Museum and so we decided to stop in and pay a visit. We will post another blog for that visit.

#TBT Christmas Parties 2022

We are throwing it back to this past weekend. We hung out with some of our good friends and attended a couple of Christmas parties. It was a weekend of food fellowship and fun! So much laughter which is so good for the soul! It’s hard to believe that Christmas Season has came and went. So much so that this post is a throwback to the holiday weekend!

Tonight we had a impromptu local family gathering. My great niece is visiting from Chicago with her daughter this weekend. So we all gathered together tonight to fellowship eat and enjoy each others company. Such a great night for family!

Branding Session Pose Gone Wrong

Throwback Thursday!

We got together with fellow photographer and friend Bryant Andrews (Sky Love Photography) to photography some brand images in studio. We had a list of ideas for the shoot and one in particular we decided to try it was a photo turned upside down on the coach. The photo idea looked super cool in on the inspiration board.

By the the time I decide to flip upside down for the photograph things went all the way wrong. I lost my balance, Bryant didn’t say much but he knew the idea was not that great.

Here’s to say you may have a great idea for an image but not all ideas are great ones. Still try the ideas somethings may work and some may not. You will never know until you try!

Throwback Thursday- Photo Session

We came across a photo session that we had done in the wonderful year of 2015!

Yes, our lovely fellow photographer friend Eve Loves Photography captured some updated looks for us that year. This was one of the 1st time I decided to work with another photographer to allow them to capture images for me. Each time that I have the opportunity to work with a photographer I always summons one of my sons to come with me on the shoot to capture behind the scenes action.

Behind the scenes is where all the magic is happening. The blunders the conversations the silly poses and all the fun.

This particular year I found this adorable shirt ( I love this affirmation) Live your Dream I paired it up with my black blazer my skinny jeans and my nude color heels and I was ready for action.

From this point on I made it a yearly thing (especially around my birthday) to do a photo session!

We still love this phrase “Live Your Dreams”

About a week ago

It’s been a week ago today that I was visiting friends and Houston. After a Friday afternoon of running errands and getting everything in place we were ready to hang out that evening for fun times.

My friend Terri and I got dressed and went on to hang out to enjoy a wonderful night in the great city of Houston! Terri who has recently moved to Houston last fall has been exploring the city and the many different things to do. She and I have had a list of restaurants , patio bars, coffee shop, selfie museums and night life activities that we’ve been wanting to cross off our list. So last Friday we visited the Urban Social and enjoyed ourselves! Here’s to another items being crossed off our list!

Hey Mr. DJ

Being a Social Event Photographer, I believe a DJ can make or break your event. Here’s the thing music creates a vibe for your event, so if you have some good music playing you notice how guests might go from tapping their feet to singing along to ultimately making their way to the dance floor. The good Dj will keep this kinda vibe going for the entire duration of the event.

Now in my experience of being present to capture many events there have been times when the music playing was so great and the DJ was going in on the mix, I didn’t want to leave the event. There also have been other times when you have a so-called DJ that was just playing random songs that had no rhyme or reason on why it’s being played. I’ve also witness the deaden of the crowd because the music played was just not right for this party. So if you are planning an event and you are hiring a DJ make sure you get one that will make your guest remember they had a great time. Great Blends, Knows their eras of music , over all just a great entertainer for the night!

For fun we also watch live DJ’s on twitch tv app mixing and blending music online!

10 Things I can’t live without

1. My computer – that is my access to research the world

2. My phone- That is my way of reaching out and connecting with someone

3. Notebook – this is my way of getting my ideas and thoughts out

4. My morning cup of tea or hot chocolate (it’s a habit)

5. being able to rise up in the morning and pray. (I can’t make it through the day without a word with my sponsor)

6. My vehicle – Thankful to be able to jump in my ride and go wherever I need to go

7. My jogging pants- whew the level of comfort that they provide whew… it’s like no other

8. A few books that I enjoy reading over and over ( The Alchemist, Write it down Make it Happen)

9. My Camera- Oh I have to have it…. That is my way of creating!

10. My Purse- where else am I going to house all the junk I want to carry around.

40th Birthday Celebration in the Garden !

You've heard of a vegatable garden, a flower garden and even a secret garden. So with all that in mind earlier this year we were contacted by Ronda, she was putting together her birthday celebration and she decided to have an intimate dinner with friends in her private home. The theme of the dinner party was Garden.

Friends How many of us have them? Well for Ronda, she has quite a few that joined her for a private chef table experience. It was a milestone birthday and she decided to celebrate with her closest friends over some delicious dinner paired up with the best-tasting wine for the entree. We were so happy to be apart of the beautiful celebration and we totally appreciate being able to take a delicious plate home.

Cardi B thanks for Inspiring me!

We recently hosted our Portfolio & Perspectives Style Shoot Workshop in Atlanta, Georgia

As we were busy styling up our main table for seating we were inspired... So here goes my story of Inspiration! 

So those who are not familiar with the rap star Cardi B she has been headlining blogs, news outlets and she was made super popular by her authentic style on Instagram. This young female rapper just recently dropped her debut album and when I saw the cover art I was so inspired.

I absolutely love loud colors they scream happiness to me. So with the inspiration of the album art cover, I was inspired to design my recent table scape for our Portfolios & Perspectives Event Design Workshop around the inspiration of the album cover. Searched my mind and took an immediate inventory of items already owned that I can pull this look together. Just a few basics and we got what we envision the color palette that screams fun!

This was a fun table scape to put together! I love lots of colors its screams happiness. 

So I hope you are able to feel the joy in the images as we were excited about creating

Prom Seasons... A Distant Memory

The year was 2007 and just the fall of the previous year we had picked up our camera and we were ready to take on the world and capture everything in it... So as time went on and opportunities presented themselves to us we were happy to oblige. Prom Season on any giving year begins in March and goes through May. 

We were contacted by the parents in order to capture images of their son and his date on their way to senior prom. So delighted that we were able to offer our mobile studio services to this client. We arrive at the home in which it was a Pre Prom Party going on complete with all the family and food and the energy was super high. We set up in the living room with our standard gray backdrop and we had a white column that stood to about your thigh area.  As we placed the couple in position we begin to capture images of this memorable occasion. I've just recently came by this memories of the past with my humble beginnings. I'm Thankful and Grateful of the journey and experiences that I've had to capture the many couples, family and friends during their seasons of celebrations. It thrills me to connect with so many people and be apart of their life memories. Just like that its a memory at a distant. 

This distant memory is now eleven years ago. I pray these two individuals went on to pursue their passion and dreams and are living a success and properous life.
