5 Ways to Preserve your Photo Memories

One day it will all be History!
Your pictures you take today will will provide you with a visual story to tell. Up and Down my timeline on Social media I'm seeing all the graduates from pre- School to College and its such a beautiful site to see.
Congratulations to all the Graduates during this season! Best wishes for a successful & productive future! May all your goals and visions come to life!

During this time lots of images are being capture to celebrate and remember this moment in time.

While we are caught up in the moment and in some cases the memory will be just a post on social media. I'm going to list a few ways that you can take the digital images you are creating by phone or photo shoot images and give a few ideas on how to preserve the memories.

  1. Print out the images from a photo lab

  2. Create a photo Album ( Shutterfly, Walgreens, Sam's Club)

  3. Create a Website or Blog to remember the time (Blogger, WordPress)

  4. Create a memory box (store all items that you would like to save)

  5. Create a Scrap Book (This is a fun keepsake)

The purpose of me to come and write on this blog everyday is to pull out thoughts and ideas that I would like to share. Each day I have so many thoughts about so many things. They say everyday a person has over 60,000 thoughts. For awhile I’ve been wanting to just write something everyday. It wasn’t until recently that I took on this #100daydreamchallenge and decide to challenge myself to write on this blog everyday. Somedays I have a plan of what I want to write about other days not so much, I pull up late evening and remind myself…. don’t forget to blog something today. 5 of my Favorite Movies from the 80’s

Yesterday, I heard a song by Billy Ocean that reminding me of the good times of growing up in the 80’s. From that point of hearing the songs I went on a search of some of my favorite movies from that time. So I came across a few of my favorite movies that I love (we) loved and watch the trailers from the movie. Back then when we watch movies we would record them on video and my little brother and I would watch them over and over again. Our favorites were mostly teen and comedy because we both lived for a good laugh. We would also try and convinced our parents to watch some of our favorites as well.

10 Places to Store Your Digital Images

Today we are going to give you 10 places to store your digital files. Now that close to everyone has access to phones with camera we find ourselves capturing images often. If your phone is anything like mine sooner or later you are getting the notification that you are out of storage. Geez, Like where am I going to store all these files that I do not want to totally delete, I want to still have access to.

Well today we are going to give you a few tips on where to store your digital images.
Here are a few general ideas:
Two options:
Physical
Cloud Base

Hard Drive on your computer
External Drive
Thumb Drive
Mobile Phone
CD- rom (yes I have clients that use them)
Make sure to have images in several places in case of loss theft fire

They keep your images in there systems for years
Google Drive – this is a free service if you have a google / Gmail account gives you up to 15GB of storage space

“When Life gives you that moment… take a picture” Lately I’ve been going through plenty of image from photo sessions I’ve captured over the years. It brings back really fond memories. The places and people we have captured. It really keeps you locked into the moment. I’ve even been going through photos from our family albums and looking at moments that have gone passed. Some images I just stare off and remember a time others which are classic moments before I was born and I try to imagine the time period and what life was like for members of my family. It is with those special images that is a reminder take a picture. Capture a moment. I believe the future generations will be glad you did.

Today has been a great day! This was one of those days where everything seemed as though it was going my way. From the early rising to prepare for the day to the commute to your work today. The variety of people that I came in contact with today was a great day! So today we are listing the 5 things we are grateful for today!

  1. The Breath of Life- Thankful for the early rise, prayer and meditation to accompany waking up this morning.

  2. The delicious morning beverage of Hot Chocolate it was so good and tasty this morning

  3. The Commute to my work assignment today. We left earlier, although traffic in the city of Atlanta can be pretty congested we had a really smooth right to work today.

  4. Capturing many memorable images today of a special event that will be remembered for years to come. (Georgia Stand-Up Ribbon Cutting Ceremony)

  5. My very tasty dinner tonight ( I chose to have dinner for one at Smokey Bones) My delicious Salmon dinner was hot and tasty and I enjoyed every morsel that I put in my mouth.

Everyday Writing 2022- Halfway Through

Yay we made it! We officially have made it halfway through our #100daydreamchallenge.

We joined one of our favorite social media influencer Brother Ben X for a challenge of doing something for 100 days straight. I decided I wanted to commit to blog posting for the next 100 days straight.

Yes, indeed you heard me 100 days straight of blogging. I was inspired several years ago to blog or write everyday by Seth Godin. If you follow his blog or you receive emails from him, It’s something written everyday to his audience. Most times that I write or have thoughts about something I either pull out my notebook and write or take out my phone and jot down notes on the app. When I write I date everything I do. During this challenge, many times I was able to refer back to many of my previous notes and thoughts to provide myself with word for the blog. It allow me when I didn’t feel like I had much to say, I was able to pull out from the archive that has already been written. So today we celebrate as we continue on this journey. We are officially half way there. Yay Me!!!

The Power of Persistence

Consistency and Persistence are two powerful things. When you become persistence about something in your life and you keep pushing and pushing eventually you are going to wind up with whatever it is that you were after and it’s the same with consistency, when you have set a goal for yourself and you keep showing up day in and out you eventually will achieve that with what you were after.

So my Goal this year is to keep showing up night after night with consistency in writing on this word pad (blog). It’s important that I get my thoughts out.

“I get crickets.... “

Over the years being on a variety of social media platforms and starting a blog, it's never been a lot of followers but we've always work to post and stay consistent with our posting.

Consistency creates confidence... yes there are many times you can post something and it seems like no one listening at all but believe you me folks that are interested in your product or service will come around!!! Just be consistent!  True story... I started a blog in 2008 and I really had no idea what I was doing, but I would still just post about things that I was working on fast forward the year was 2011 and I begin to get orders from custom party supplies that I created... The success of the collection went on for a few years after... why... I was consistent and my content became top of google search ... not because I was a SEO guru ... because I was consistent even when it seem I was talking to myself.

Fast forward to May 2022! I'm apart of a 100 day consistency challenge. My challenge is to write a blog post everyday for 100 days! So far so good! We've been going strong! Just a few days we are at the halfway point 50 days of posting everyday! #consistency

Reflections of April 2022!

Thank you what a blessed month.

April started off with assisting with birthday celebration for Cori (My friend Vanessa’s daughter) which we had a great time helping out with all the details for this art show birthday party.

From that we sprung right into the great fast of Ramadan. 

We were able to push the reset button by participating in the fast. Daily prayer calls in the Ramadan Prayer line no food and drink from sun up to sun down and the reading of The Holy Quran. 

We also have been participating in the 100 day dream challenge. Our challenge for the next 100 days is to blog everyday to stay consistent with creating content and using our words to inspire.

My Experience with Special Events Photography

When I first began in photography and I purchased my 1st DSLR Camera I was super excited to be able to create beautiful imagery with this new over $500 purchase. Now that I have this big professional camera I’m in the Big League now!

When I began taking pictures I was capturing a lot of photo sessions mainly families and friends that needed updated images. The event wasn’t too long after doing that that I landed a job capturing a special event. When I did it was pretty fun, I didn’t worry about a lot of lighting challenges and my subjects didn’t have to be placed in front of a backdrop I was just able to go around and capture what I thought were meaningful images of an event. Before too long I was booking lots of events and became a go-to photographer for all things special events.

As I began to hone in on the skill I had in mind that I wanted to have magazine-worthy images. Over the years we have had features in magazines and many copyright release forms have been signed by corporate entities to use our images for different projects as they occurred.
